Flashback Friday

Tad is not a fan of long hair. Whenever he feels his hair has gotten too long, he tells me “I’m too fluffy.” We are at the point now that we just take him in, once every four weeks, for a haircut. In order for him to play Stan Lee, though, we let his hair grow out a bit longer, which drove him nuts. He got it cut two days after Halloween.
And then Tad decided that the dark fluff (which wasn’t very plentiful) needed to go, too. So he took care of that. In the shower, with my razor.
I noticed it later that evening, and let’s just say that the end result was… patchy.
This became a “where is your father?” moment, and the Webmaster then took over. He found an appropriate safety razor, and introduced Tad to the concept of SHAVING CREAM.
Fortunately, there was no harm done with the first shave, and the second (proper) one cleaned everything up.
Tad might need to shave again in another month. Maybe.

After years of work, Thumper has finally learned how to zip up his own coat!
This was cause for celebration!
And then we discovered that because Thumper can zip up his own coat, he now believes that he is Master of his own Destiny.
And if the Master of his own Destiny wants to put on shoes and his coat, march outside, and sit in the car to wait to go somewhere, then that’s what he’s going to do.
I must have sat in the car with him for a full 20 minutes, trying to figure out what he wanted. Did he want to go somewhere? Could we go back inside?
Best as I could tell, he wanted my iPhone, and thought a car ride was his best bet to ask for it.
I finally had to ask him if he wanted ice cream – to which I got an excited “yes!” – before we could go back inside.
Who knew that being able to zip his own coat would get Thumper drunk on his own power???

Tad’s school held a “Spirit Week” that conveniently covered Halloween last week, and they had the typical themes. Monday was Pajama Day, Tuesday was Twin Day, Wednesday was Blackout Day, and then Thursday was Costume Day for Halloween.
But Friday was a new one. Friday was “Meme Day.”
Googling “meme costumes” was pretty eye-opening, and I knew that I couldn’t pull off anything too elaborate at the last minute. So the Webmaster and I went shopping, and I followed a hunch and stopped at our local ThinkGeek store.
Jackpot!
This is the most perfect meme for Tad, the human toothpick, and it’s on a T-shirt!
It was meant to be. Mom and Dad won Meme Day (in our own heads, anyway)!
