At the rate that the librarian is assigning acrostic poems, Rerun might have a book full by the end of the school year.  Here is his latest – the topic was supposed to be centered on Earth Day, so writing about a favorite plant or tree was encouraged.

Rerun declared that sunflowers are his favorite flower, thanks to Plants vs. Zombies, but I told him he needed to write on the REAL flower, not the game version.  This meant we did a little research and watched some time-lapse growth videos, which was quite educational.  And yes, he did have some help composing the poem, just to make sure that we followed to acrostic rules.

… but are completely unrelated.

Ane had been asking if she could make chicken parmigiana again, after making it once for her Food & Nutrition class last year.  I told her fine, go for it, and made sure she had the ingredients.  This was the end result, and it was delicious:

She used the Pioneer Woman’s recipe.  As a result of this success, Ane has now been given the task of making dinner every Saturday for the foreseeable future.

Later that night, I had to pull yet ANOTHER of Thumper’s teeth.

That bottom incisor was loose, but wedged tightly.  There were some tears involved as Mama needed to have a good grip and there wasn’t a lot of room.  Fortunately, he’s forgiven me – even if I did just throw another wrench in his ability to chew food.

Tad’s school had “virtual spirit week” on Monday, Wednesday, and today.  He participated on each day, and I made sure to get pictures.

Monday: Crazy Hat/Hair Day.  Time to break out the Mariners’ “flow bro” cap!

Wednesday: Classy/Dress-Up Day.  Notice the pattern on Tad’s shirt.

Today: School Spirit Wear.

Tad had better get all the wear out of that hoodie that he can this year, because next year, he’s going to high school and will need a new hoodie….

Thumper has found out that eating without those top two teeth is a little more complicated than he thought.

But for a M&M chocolate cookie ice cream sandwich?  Challenge accepted.

He quickly learned that his gnawing strategy needed to shift to the side molars.

And as the ice cream softened, the sandwich became easier to eat.  It was soon gone.  Challenge met and won!
