Rerun’s school schedule – as with all the elementary schools in our district – has been reduced down to the Three “R”s – reading, writing, and arithmetic.  However, library, music, and PE have also been added in to the afternoon schedule, to be accomplished within a week.

The library assignment for this week was to compose an acrostic poem on any (school-appropriate) subject that the student chose.  Rerun and I debated several ideas (I told him that he could not do his own name), and he finally settled on the suggestion (from the librarian’s list) of video games.

The end result was pretty great.

He wanted to do Minecraft initially, but I didn’t know enough about Minecraft to really help him (and Ane was busy).  So he was happy to settle on the (shorter) Pac-Man idea.  While I helped with the lines, he brainstormed the words he wanted to use, and then drew the great illustrations.

Well, there goes another one!  And it’s kind of obvious!

Thumper has been working that other top front central incisor with his tongue like crazy, and it finally got loose enough to pull last night – with minimal drama this time!

That smile is just beyond cute.

Rerun had a book report due today, and because school is online, creativity is encouraged.  So he planned on first shooting a video, and then switched to Google Slides, with LEGO help.

He had just finished reading “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” and borrowed Ane’s LEGO sets to create scenes from the movie for his report.

With Mom and Dad’s camera help, we got photos taken, previously written text moved, and the Slides composed.

And Rerun had a good time on a rainy Saturday afternoon putting LEGO sets back together.

The schools are attempting to still hold “Spirit Wear Days,” so the kids can dress up and enjoy some of the same stuff that they did while they were on campus together.  It’s not quite the same on Zoom, but I have to give them credit for trying.

So I have instituted my own Spirit Wear Days.  (It helps that I mostly pick out the boys’ T-shirts each day.)  Yesterday was Baby Yoda Spirit Wear Day, and I made them line up for a class picture.

Ane and Thumper got those T-shirts in their Easter baskets, so the timing was perfect.  And they are all good sports.  It also doesn’t hurt that Baby Yoda is absolutely adorable.
