Happy Star Wars Day 2020
3:27pm
3:44pm
I don’t know why, but Thumper is currently obsessed with my glasses.
The problem is that I actually need these to SEE, and I’ve been wearing my glasses more than my contacts lately. My eyesight is terrible, so if I’m not wearing contacts, I have to be wearing my glasses. Thumper was trying to pull them off my face to put them on, and now is not the time for me to have my frames twisted or broken. So he has to ask nicely for them (“I want glasses please”) in order to try them on. Like I said, my eyesight is terrible so I have a strong prescription. Does he like the high magnification? Is there a sensory factor I’m missing? Who knows.
I gave him an older pair that are a few prescriptions old to play with, but he isn’t as enamored with those. So it’s now become a common sight on his class Zoom meetings for Thumper to pop up, wearing my glasses. I’m sure this amuses everyone… not that I can see it, but I’m sure it looks funny.
7:33pm
Nana and Papa sent the kids a gift of KiwiCo crates! Not only were the kids excited about getting a package all for themselves, but each kid got a crate of their own. Rerun could not wait to tear into his: build your own walking robot!
He dove right in (with a little Mom help) and eagerly read the instructions and began laying out the parts from the box. The instructions were very easy to follow and were clearly meant for kids his age.
The instructions also had the kids test the battery pack before finishing the robot (very smart) to make sure all was going according to the instructions. Once it was finished, Rerun knew it was able to walk – and he was thrilled with the project!
That kept him busy for a few hours… which was much appreciated. Thanks, Nana and Papa!
8:17pm
There are too many Zoom meetings to keep track of, and inevitably, even though I have everything written down on a schedule, there was a Mom Fail.
I forgot both Thumper’s PE and Music Zoom meetings, because they are quick back-to-back ten minute ones. *sigh*
So I took him for a walk to the coffee stand (exercise!) while he listened to They Might Be Giants on the iPod (music!).
This counts, right?
