Gray Everywhere

10:01pm

While Ane is away, her now-former room is being transformed into Tad’s new room – complete with a paint color that Batman would love.

Good bye, pink walls, and hello, gray…

As soon as the paint is dry (I’ve been doing a lot of touch-ups), it’s moving day!

And happy 4th birthday to Little Baby Cousin – we miss you so much!!!

Picturesque Maui

8:53pm

Ane has been sending pictures to me via text, so here are some of the recent ones that I thought were particularly good.

Ane and Lisa have been having a lot of fun together, as you can see!

They visited the Nakalele Blowhole and the Heart-Shaped Rock.

And Ane drank an Island Vintage Coffee for all of us here at home.

She is flying home tomorrow, and I know the boys are anxious to have her home again!

Mastering A Medium

2:01am

Sometimes, when Tad actually takes the time to really put effort into a piece of art, he can just blow me away.

This was the final watercolor that he brought home from art camp.  He says he freehand copied of a picture that his teacher had, and then painted.

I’m getting this one framed.

Last Day of Summer Camp 2019

9:47pm

After all the complaining about waking up early, having to wear sunscreen, and traffic…. Rerun began to cry this morning when he realized it was the last day of camp.  Despite all his complaints, he really has come to love the routine of camp.  And he settled in so quickly this summer, and that made everything easier.

There were lots of high-fives with the other kids in his bunk, and his counselors, as we said good-bye.

And then the Blue Angels went screaming overhead, practicing for Seafair.  It’s always one of the highlights of the end of camp, that the Blue Angels are buzzing around, giving the kids a fantastic view of them from the top of Interlaken Park.

It was a great send-off to the end of camp, and now… we move into birthday month mode!
