Flashback Friday

5:33am

Anyone else remember when we first moved Tad and Rerun into a new room of their own?  That was in 2011.

The walls that had been painted periwinkle for Ane were turned into two shades of blue, Tad got his captain’s bed, and we moved them in.

Well, this weekend, almost exactly 8 years later, that room is going to be repainted for Ane once again, now that Tad has moved into his own room and the little boys have a baseball room.  Stay tuned!  This should be the last room we paint this summer!

Happy Birthday, Gichan!

11:31pm

Yes, it was my Dad’s birthday today – and that means cake!

And this is what happens when Auntie orders the cake.

Auntie: “Well, we call him Dad, the kids call him Gichan, so I just went with ‘Old Man.’  And the Avengers.”

A Rug For The Baseball Room!

10:10pm

Since Rerun and Thumper’s new bedroom is baseball themed, it was only fitting that it got a baseball rug.  And Grandma and Gichan ordered one for them (happy anniversary to the Webmaster and me – apparently “rugs and carpets” are the gift when you have been married 19 years).

And this one is really spectacular!

Rerun had been waiting and waiting and WAITING for “his” rug to show up, and he was VERY excited when it did.

And as I knew he would do, he promptly set up his Angry Birds and Bad Piggies to play a baseball game.

The funniest part, though, was when Ane (who is living in the bottom bunk at the moment, waiting for her room to be finished) came to tell me, “Mother, HE SANG THE NATIONAL ANTHEM BEFORE THE BIRDS AND PIGS PLAYED THEIR BASEBALL GAME.”

How can you not love that??

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes At Pump It Up!

9:01pm

I told Tad that this was the last time he was going to be able to have his birthday party at Pump It Up (the kid is 14 now!), so he went out with a bang.  The jumping part was as fun as it always is, and Tad was the party king.

And Auntie was the cupcake queen.  Tad requested a classic Disney theme this year – mostly Mickey Mouse – and Auntie was happy to do something that was not Batman or sharks for him.

She even made fun rice krispie party favors for everyone to take home!

And we had a great turnout at the party, which is always more fun with more people.

So Tad felt properly celebrated on his birthday, which is always fun!
