Start Pulling Your Weight, Kid

10:05pm

Ane is probably tired of hearing me say things like “when I was your age…”

But I’m only telling her things that are true.  For example, when I was 16, I could do all my own ironing.

Get to it, kid.

And if you don’t have any ironing, practice on your brother’s shirt.

Yes, she did a good job and he wore it to church the next morning.

Rerun Speaks – Deep Questions

10:59pm

Despite this house’s state of perpetual mess, I have decided that it really should not hold us back in having people over.  So, we invited over our youth pastor and his wife for dinner tonight.

With everyone off of school (though Ane was off studying for the impending finals week), this meant that the Webmaster (who had the day off) and I were working around the boys.

Rerun finally asked, “What are you doing?”

When we informed him that we had company coming for dinner, and who it was, he looked at us funny.  “Why are we having church people over for dinner?”

After we got done laughing, I told him that he needed to clean up his plush toys from the living room.

For the record, everyone had a good time at dinner.

Flashback Friday

2:11am

We really need to replace our back deck.  It’s been in need of repair for a while, and now we’re just at the point where the whole thing needs replacing.

But when we do, I might ask that we keep the railing the same height, just so I can keep measuring the kids in the same spot whenever there is snow.

That picture was taken in December 2013.  Here was the picture from earlier this week.

They’ve gotten a bit bigger and taller.  And Rerun and Thumper are now wearing the snow pants that Ane and Tad were wearing in the first picture.

So yeah, I’m going to ask for the railing to be the same height, just to keep track of how much the kids have grown.

Snow Creations

3:59pm

The kids went back to school today!!!

*Mom does happy dance*

But while they were home, they did make the most of the snow.  The snow gear enabled them to be out there every single day, enjoying it (and Rerun insisted on wearing his boots to school, which was fine by me), and Ane and Rerun made snow… creatures.

Rerun made an Angry Bird snowman.  That’s supposed to be Red Bird on top.

This kept him busy for a LONG time, which was great.

Ane, however, went in another direction, with a nod to the most recent viral sensation.

It’s a Baby Yoda snowman!  She found large rocks for the eyes.  I thought it was hilarious.

The snow has now started melting away, and with temperatures warming up, we should be in the clear.  Until next time, snow….
