I was flipping through some old pictures, and four years ago, Tad went to probably the coolest birthday party ever.

After all, how many birthday parties do YOU go to where you can hold a dwarf alligator and feed a giant tortoise?

Also, Tad is now a giant compared to his size four years ago.  Good grief, that kid has sprouted!

You might have heard of the coronavirus outbreak.  Well, Ane’s high school is currently closed “out of an abundance of precaution” (the superintendent’s words, not mine) after a staff member’s family member, who was traveling overseas with them over midwinter break, came down sick.

While we don’t know yet if the sick person has coronavirus, the district decided to close the school for a deep clean.

Which meant that Ane got to sleep in this morning while her brothers went to school.

Then she asked if she could borrow the car to go to a friend’s house to work on a group project.  The time for the group project had already been planned, but the “borrowing the car” element had not been part of the deal – and I had a meeting.

So Ane then asked to use the only wheels that she actually owns.

Good thing she had it out just last week and hasn’t forgotten how to ride a bike, right?

Short answer: YES.

I have already registered Rerun for summer camp, Ane can already see what her summer work schedule will be, I’ve been trying to collect information on camps for Tad, and I’ve already talked with Thumper’s therapists about his summer schedule.

Oh, and Ane wants to fit a trip to Maui in there to hang out on the beach with Lisa and drink Island Vintage Kona mochas.

Summers were so much easier when the kids were little, and my entire goal was to keep them cool and from fighting with each other.  Now I have to do that, PLUS get them to where they need to be.

At least Ane will be able to drive herself around this summer.

Tad brought this home from art class (they are on a break next week while the teacher is out of town).  The assignment was to draw the interior of a house if the exterior was “cut away” – like playing in a dollhouse.

Three guesses which house Tad drew, and the first two guesses don’t count.

The fact that you can see UNDER the house should be a dead giveaway.
