The school district has rebooted the online school program as version 2.0, which started yesterday.  The kids were a little confused, but after two weeks off as they worked out how they wanted to arrange things, I think this will be a much more manageable model.

And now that Ane is back, and acclimating to the Rule of Mom, I gave her a promotion.

Boys, meet your new recess teacher, who has recently returned from Maui.

Under the new online school schedule plus Rule of Mom, the afternoons are fairly free.  So we are going to have mandatory “lunch recess” (this might be before or after lunch) for one hour a day (weather permitting – when the weather is bad, I will allow one hour on the Kinect).  Now that Rerun rides a bike, this is even more of a workout for the boys.  (Thumper’s wheels are an issue – more on that later.)

And now that Ane is back, she can supervise the lunch recess while I get some actual work done inside.  Like laundry.  It’s not like THAT stopped coming.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that this blog, as of this last week, just marked its 15th birthday!!!  Congratulations if you’ve been on the ride with me for that long.  I certainly never saw it coming myself!

Something must have nudged Thumper yesterday, because after we watched church online, he insisted on wearing a button-up shirt, and then put on his socks and shoes.  Then he walked outside and waited by the car.

He knew it was Sunday! (Why he had to pick a shirt off the ironing pile is beyond me…)

The Webmaster had been planning on going to the store, but didn’t want to take Thumper with him.  So they went for a drive around the block, which satisfied him.

Poor little kid, he doesn’t understand why we don’t have our nomal routines right now.

The Webmaster finally ordered himself a pair of reading glasses online, after finding a pair that fit his face that didn’t cost an arm and a leg.

I think he looks good in them.

And since I am the head of HR in this house, I have cleared all comments about my co-worker’s appearance with myself, and I approve.

The weather has been trying to make up its mind whether it will be spring showers or spring sunshine.

When it is sunshine, I try to get the boys outside to ride bikes.  But yesterday, Thumper and I went for a long walk around the neighborhood.

We only had to avoid a few puddles, but Thumper was very happy to be out and about – and away from his brothers.  The walk became longer and longer because he just wanted to stay outside.

And it was good exercise for me, too!
