Wedding News!

4:20pm

Fun news from the weekend!!!

I opened a box, handed to me by Auntie, to discover this under the lid!  I’m going to be…. an over-40 bridesmaid.  When I pointed this out to Grandma, she commented that when Great-Grandma remarried, she was matron-of-honor as a mother of three….

… and then I pointed out that I am now TEN YEARS OLDER than she was at that time.

Yikes.

Ane has been asked to be a junior bridesmaid, Rerun and Thumper will be ring bearers, and Tad… well, Tad is being dubbed “wedding assistant extraordinare.”  He will do anything that Auntie tells him to do (most likely some ushering).

Good thing we have over a year before the wedding!

Flashback Friday

10:04am

I really miss baseball games in May.  The weather has warmed up, and the season is in full swing.  Not this year, obviously.

But here are some pictures from Mays past…

Thumper’s first baseball game was on Memorial Day in 2013.

There have been Star Wars games on May the 4th.  This one was from 2018.

And there have been games that we go to just because, like last year.

Well, the Griffey rookie bobblehead might have had something to do with last year’s game.

I’m still hoping for some kind of season this year…

Book Club Time

9:59pm

I am trying to make sure that the boys keep up on their individual reading time.  Rerun has been reading the Harry Potter series since last summer (with the help of Audible), and I finally twisted Tad’s arm into reading the books once the official website started their “Harry Potter At Home” series with celebrities reading chapters of the first book.

So, Tad is reading the first book, and Rerun has just started the last book.

Thanks to the LEGO video game and the movies, they do know how it all ends.  Tad is the most vociferous about the differences between book and movie – and I have to keep reminding him that the book is always right.

Floor Pac-Man

4:54pm

The kids know the rules.  Even with “online school,” the house rule of “no console-style video games” still applies.  The rule USED to be “no Xbox at all except on weekends” but that got amended to let the kids use the Kinect on rainy days when they can’t play outside.

So Rerun built his own Pac-Man game… on the floor, with packing cardboard and Duplos.

Hey, whatever keeps him busy, right???
