Mask Organization

10:12pm

Since face masks are likely to be around for the forseeable future, I decided that we needed a better system to keep them organized.

After shopping around (on Amazon), I found the solution.

It’s not a shoe holder!  It’s a mask organizer!

The Webmaster’s expression is just too hilarious.

This was a 12 pocket shoe organizer, which we safety pinned up to only show 8 pockets.  Everyone in the family has their own pocket, with spare masks and filters in the bottom two pockets.

To quote Han Solo, “Sometimes I amaze even myself.”

Personalized Masks

11:51am

“Marking a kid’s mask for camp” is the new “marking a kid’s underwear for camp.”

Old Navy started making kids’ masks and selling them in 5 packs.  Since there has been a major run on fabric and elastic (and I’m pretty much a novice on sewing machines), I opted to order masks and then personalize them.

And because I can cross-stitch, it was really easy to take Rerun’s love of Pac-Man and make his masks his own.

They’re all wrinkly because I wash and air dry them.  Rerun now has one for each day of the camp week.  But he wants ALL the ghosts, so I’ve been told I’m not done yet.  And the other kids would like some personalized masks as well.

Friday Fun At Camp

11:47am

One of the things that Rerun (and Tad, when he was there) has always loved at camp were the field trips.

Well, this year, there are no field trips.  So many of the places that they would have gone are either closed or at reduced capacity, to say nothing of the question of maintaining social distancing on a bus transporting kids.

So the camp is making up for it by having a video game bus come to camp, plus outdoor laser tag.

You can’t see it, but Rerun is PUMPED under his mask.

He’s also really happy because I got another Pac-Man mask made for him.  He’s getting quite a collection!

Rerun Speaks: Low Battery

10:43pm

Thumper crashed hard after swimming lessons this evening.

He really is an adorable little boy.

Rerun, however, smelled an opportunity.

“Thumper’s battery is down to about 10%, so he had to recharge.” (Pause) “I’m at about 32%, so I’d like to play on the computer.”

21st century children, I tell you.
